If Vanda start making these, I’ll definitely be buying a couple
vandafineclothing:

It’s about time to replace our aprons after a year of heavy use! Since we’ve received numerous requests for aprons from our clients who are apparently great chefs (but we can’t be sure - they’ve never fed us!), we’re toying with the idea of offering them for sale. We’re thinking of a mid-heavy weight navy linen (plain? herringbone?), knee length, with two patch pockets and an embroidered Vanda as pictured. Internal pockets for thermometers? Adjustable straps or two sizes? What would a bespoke suit and handmade necktie-wearing gent expect of an apron?  We’d love to hear from you!

The long awaited social plattform for dudes who like clothes was finally launched today. It’s part discovery, curation and e-commerce and is creatively led by Ryan Plett of TravelWell, one of our favorite blogs. This video explains the ins and outs of the site far better and faster than we ever could, so we’ll let the attractive voice narrating do the rest of the talking for us.

Rules for Men - to be built on

mostexerent:

Rule 1 A man stands for something:

He stands when he takes an important call, because standing helps a man project his voice with greater authority and enthusiasm. He stands as often as he can at his office, because too much time sitting down, no matter how much he works out or how fit he is, increases his risk of heart disease. But most of all, a man stands for something he believes in. It ca be as simple as standing for whole grains over refined ones, or for never cheating on a bench press, or for never cheating in a relationship. What matters isn’t the rule - it’s the fact that he wont compromise at all.

Rule 2 A man unplugs:

He keeps his BlackBerry and iPad out of the bedroom, because bedrooms are for two things - and electronic communication devices aren’t helpful to either. Light emitted from electronic screens actually suppresses the hormone melatonin, which plays a role in inducing sleep. It’ll also suppress a variety of her most appealing hormones, too, if she thinks you’d rather turn a device on than turn her on.

Rule 3 A man customizes:

He understands which parts of the world will bend to his will an which parts won’t. He buys a suit by looking at the fit of the shoulder, because he trusts his tailor to fix just about everything else except that. He asks for something better than what’s on the menu, because he knows that most establishments - even chain restaurants - often have smarter, healthier choices that aren’t listed on the big board. His life is tailored to suit only himself, because he knows that what counts isn’t how luxurious an item is; it’s how well it fits.

Rule 4 Most important of all, a man accepts:

He accepts that he can’t control everything, because he knows that sometimes giving up control is the best way to achieve command over chaos. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, he knows that accepting sleeplessness is one of the best ways to fall back to sleep. He accepts that almost every choice in life is a choice between sacrifice and compromise. And if he lives right, he’ll face the future with a bearable burden of each.
